Your solar plant generates electricity for your building, while you stay connected to the utility grid.
In a net-metering system, if your solar plant generates more energy than what is consumed, the excess energy will be fed into the utility grid.
In self-consumption system, we usually don’t allow the excess energy to feed the grid.
Should you consume more electricity than what your solar plant generates, the additional electricity required will be from the utility grid.
